Welcome to Tenn & Two episode number 98! Today we are thrilled to be joined by two great friends of the podcast as they launch an exciting new collaboration today. Introducing VJ Geronimo from Oris and Rob Caplan of Topper Jewelers and of course, the new Oris Diver 65 Maxi Topper Edition.
Topper Jewelers is no stranger to limited edition watch collaborations, creating some absolutely unique pieces that cater to true watch enthusiasts over the years, and the new Diver 65 Maxi Topper Edition is no exception. Marking the second time the two have worked together, this new piece captures the imagination of going back in time, walking into one of the original Topper Jewelers showrooms in 1965 and looking for an adventure ready diver. Paying homage to the past while creating something totally unique which was incredibly important to Rob and Topper Jewelers. So what did the two come up with?
The Oris Diver 65 Maxi Topper Edition is a 42mm version of the Diver Sixty Five, and while that’s not necessarily “maxi” by today’s standard, it would have most definitely stood out in any 1965 Topper Jewelers showroom as such. Matched with the original 12-3-6-9 dial layout, the luminous paint provides a striking and bold contrast against the matte black dial that is uniquely and quite perfectly modern and retro. Adding to the nostalgia is the sparing but bold use of the color orange as you see it on both the pip of the dive bezel and the tip of the second hand, painting a true purpose-built tool watch of the sixties. Limited to one hundred and sixty-five pieces, Topper has committed a portion of the proceeds of each watch sold to a local children’s museum CuriOdyssey.
Case: 42mm / stainless steel / screw-down crown / 100m water resistance
Dial: Matte black with BG-W9 SuperLuminova painted luminous 12-3-6-9 hour markers / bears “Anti-Shock” + jewel count of vintage editions

Crystal: Domed sapphire with anti-reflective coating on the inside

Overall this looks to be another home run from our friends at Topper Jewelers and Oris. Perfectly creating something imaginative yet traditional, and with tons of hidden “Easter Eggs” that watch enthusiasts love and adore. But then again, that is something that Topper Jewelers has mastered among their limited edition collaborations. These aren’t just watches to produce that say a jewelry store name on them. No. They are far more than that. They are watches for enthusiasts created by enthusiasts. Head over to their website www.topperjewelers.com to check out more information about this exciting new release and a huge thank you to both Rob and VJ for joining us today!
